How autism funding works in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania's Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) runs several Medicaid waivers for autistic adults. The Adult Autism Waiver (AAW) is a statewide program for individuals 21 and older, and the Adult Community Autism Program (ACAP) serves Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, and Lancaster counties. Broader waivers, Consolidated, Person/Family Directed Support, and Community Living, are also available.
Applications start with your county Mental Health/Intellectual Disability (MH/ID) office, also called an Administrative Entity. Because several of these waivers support skill-building and community participation, it is worth asking your supports coordinator whether life coaching fits within your plan.
