Autism Families CONNECTicut (AFC) provides social and recreational programs for individuals ages 3 through 35, including dedicated young-adult hangouts and events. Autism Services and Resources Connecticut (ASRC) offers a statewide resource directory and dedicated resource line at (203) 265-7717.
Connecticut’s Department of Social Services (DSS) runs the Waiver for Persons with Autism, which explicitly covers life skills coaching, job coaching, and social skills groups for adults with an IQ of 70 or higher. The waiver provides up to $50,000 per year; apply through the DSS Eligibility Unit at 866-433-8192.
