How autism funding works in Connecticut
Connecticut runs a dedicated Waiver for Persons with Autism through the Department of Social Services (DSS), designed specifically for autistic adults who do not have an intellectual disability (a Full Scale IQ of 70 or higher). It provides up to $50,000 per year in supports.
Notably, the waiver explicitly covers life skills coaching, job coaching, and social skills groups, exactly the kind of work we do. The program is not an entitlement and has a substantial waitlist, so applying early matters; you can reach the DSS Eligibility Unit at 866-433-8192. Coaching is available virtually across the state while you navigate the process.
